Little birds

We had a dumb bird build her nest in a planter RIGHT NEXT to our door a few weeks ago! I think she did it while we were in Alaska, but when we came back, every time (I just typed evertime and had to go back and fix it. Can you tell I've been reading The Help?) we would go outside or pretty much go near that door (read: her nest) she would fly away from her little babies.

So we got some footage:

Bruno decided to be sneaky when when he was further away he zoomed waaay in on that mama bird (hence the bit of blurriness in some of the pictures). And p.s. I hate watering plants outside so basically if it don't rain enough, they die. It didn't rain for the entire month of July.

Can you see that beady eye? That's the stupid mama.

Man alive, it is everthing I can do not to type "ain't"! Anyways, all three babies survived and left the nest over the weekend. Hallelujah! As I was taking down the planter Owen commented, "Maybe she will learn her lesson and not build a nest right next to our door again!" Yeah, I hope she learned that lesson! What lesson did YOU learn over the summer?
